Özet:
The increasing wave of environmental regulations has prompted manufacturers to prioritize the development of efficient product take-back/collection schemes to ensure compliance. In the European Union, the sectors most significantly impacted by these regulations are textiles, batteries, and electrical and electronic products, primarily due to their considerable environmental footprint. These regulations aim not only to mitigate environmental harm but also to reduce reliance on virgin materials and components. A critical requirement for manufacturers in meeting these regulatory demands is the formulation of a comprehensive waste management strategy. This strategy should encompass the implementation of waste product collection schemes and the design of reverse logistics networks. This study focuses on analyzing various collection schemes, such as direct manufacturer collection systems and third-party collection systems, by evaluating their economic implications and product collection rate targets through the development of reverse logistics network design models.
