The goal of the "reserve" project is to reuse the university's waste materials and establish a dedicated storage space for consumables used by architecture students in the studio.
In the first workshop, we harvested unused and damaged furniture, along with leftover materials from the campus, and transformed them into a material inventory by cleaning, measuring, and modeling each item.
Through two design charrettes, we tested these found materials on-site to explore their potential for reuse. This hands-on approach helped us integrate the found materials into our design while generating ideas for their assembly.
Following these three workshops, a final 5-day workshop was held in February 2025 to assemble the reserve in the studio. The only new items we purchased were screws, bolts, and nuts for the assembly.
The “reserve” project not only aims to reduce waste in our studios but also seeks to inspire creativity, sustainability, and collaboration within our academic community.
