Proje Özeti

As in many countries, strategic initiatives have been started with appropriate changes to the higher education system in Turkey.

With this awareness, many national and international universities have started to make changes by taking the SDGs into account

in their higher education programs. TEDU, which includes an international student population, has committed to reaching the

SDGs following the decision of the University Senate on October 14, 2021. This decision requires the university to revise its

programs to be consistent with the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The TEDU Faculty of Education

Teacher Training Programs outcomes claim commitment to the SDGs. When the current program outcomes are compared, they

have compatibility with the following SDGs: Quality Education (SDG-4), Reduced Inequalities (SDG-10), and Peace, Justice, and

Strong Institutions (SDG-16). This project aims to analyze to what degree TEDU Faculty of Education-Teacher Training

Programs program outcomes are compatible with sustainable development goals based on international students’ campus and

academic experiences. The narrative inquiry method will be employed to analyze the international students' experiences in

parallel to the project aim. Data will be collected through one-on-one interviews which focus on the lived experiences of students

in their program and on campus. A semi-structured interview protocol will be used for the data collection process. Data will be

analyzed through event summaries and thematic analysis using the most recent version of Nvivo. The findings will contribute to

the understanding of inclusive practices as suggested in the SDGs by analyzing the educational and social experiences of

international students. For this purpose, the educational and social experiences of international students registered in teacher

training programs at TEDU will be evaluated within the scope of the targeted outcomes of existing teacher training programs and

the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
