Proje Özeti

"National and international curriculums place emphasis on implementing projects and design-based interdisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities that aims researching, producing, questioning and making inventions (MEB, 2017, NCTM, 2000). In addition, STEM+A also plays an important role in the education of gifted students which supports differentiation in education (Barış, & Ecevit, 2019). Therefore, according to literature, the importance given to stem training has been increasing in recent years. However, although secondary school teachers know the importance of STEM+A and received education on this subject, it was concluded that the developing STEM+A Education Module should be beneficial for teachers (Lim, Kim, & Lee, 2014). According to John Dewey, students can learn topics more permanently by doing it themselves and this project supports Dewey's approach. As a result of the researches carried out during the project, we observed that there are many applications used in STEM+A education. However, in this project, we aimed to introduce how to use MBlock and MBot / Arduino devices, which are different applications in STEM+A education that was revealed from the literature. As seen in the literature review, there is a limited number of lesson plans related to STEM+A education. Apart from developing STEM+A based activities, we aimed that teachers can be easily implement these activities in their courses. Therefore, our goal is develop lesson plans by using MBlock and MBot / Arduino devices in STEM+A education and share them with teachers. Within the scope of our project, the target audience of the lesson plans, which set an example for the integration of STEM+A education with MBlock and MBot / Arduino, are middle school mathematics, science, and information technology teacher candidates from these disciplines."
