"The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of extracurricular activities in developing the teacher candidates’ active citizenship characteristics, as perceived by teacher educators and prospective teachers. Using criterion sampling, the sample of the study will include 10 teacher educators and 25 prospective teachers. Employing qualitative case study design, the data will be collected through semi structured face-to-face interviews with the teacher educators and focus group interviews with the prospective teachers. The interview schedules for both groups will be developed by the researcher. Once the expert opinions are taken, the instruments will be revised and then, piloted. Using Nvivo 10 software, the data will be analyzed through content analysis method."
