The course aims to make students understand key concepts of museology (collection, education, exhibition, heritage, institution, musealization, object/muselia, conservation, profession, etc.). It will introduce main functions (documentation, collecting, conservation, display, research, communication) and actors (curators, museographers, artists, conservation specialists, architects, engineers, etc.) inherent to the museal field to navigate students within the interdisciplinary processes of research and practice in display design. It makes students interpret theoretical and practical aspects of display considering different scales and contexts of museum and exhibition design.
