A. Derin İnan is an architect graduated from Yıldız Technical University, İstanbul, and received her MA at METU, Ankara in 2001. The same year she was accepted to the PhD programme in the Histories and Theories of Architecture in AA, Architectural Association, London where she had a change to work with Marina Lathouri and Mark Cousins. She completed her doctoral research, titled “From Cartography to Master-Planning: The Ankara Plan as Index of Urban Discourses in Turkey”, which focuses on the relations of architecture and urban planning through architectural drawings and representation techniques, in 2009. She taught 1st and 4th-year design studios between the years 2005-2006 in the department of architecture in Anadolu University, Eskişehir. Since 2006 she has been working as a part-time instructor in the 1st year design studio at METU, Ankara. Between the years 2005-2008, she worked as an editor in the publications and exhibitions department of the Chamber of Architects. She also worked as a researcher and a coordinator of the Commemoration Programme, a research project conducted by the Chamber of Architects, between 2006-2014.
Her main research interests focus on architectural theory, basic design and architectural representations and design education in 1st year.
