Following my graduation from METU, Architecture Department in 2009 as top of my class, I received my Master’s degree and PhD from the same institution. My graduate studies were fully supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). For the 2015-2016 education year, I was granted a Fulbright PhD Dissertation Research Grant and conducted my PhD research at Columbia University GSAPP as a visiting scholar. I completed my PhD studies in October 2018 with a dissertation titled "An Agentic Account of Design Intentionality in Computational Architecture".
Between 2009 and 2018, I worked as a research assistant at the METU Department of Architecture, where I taught undergraduate architectural courses. This experience expanded my architectural design capacity and teaching facilities, particularly in architectural design studios. For the 2018-2019 academic year, I taught Architectural Design Studios at METU and TED University as an adjunct faculty member. Since 2019, I have been teaching at TEDU as a full-time faculty member.
In addition to my academic and educational pursuits, I have experience participating in architecture competitions at both national and international levels, with some receiving awards. I am also experienced as an architectural photographer, having produced photography works for architectural firms and art galleries, as well as photographed for artistic purposes and contributed to exhibitions, books, and publications. My photographic work has been exhibited in solo and mixed shows and published in various media, including well-known Turkish architectural magazines.
My research primarily contributes to the fields of architectural design theory and methods, computational architecture, design creativity, and representation.
