Öğr. Gör. Ecem Kumbasar

Born in Ankara, Turkey. She obtained her Bachelor of Industrial Design with a minor in Psychology from Pratt Institute, New York, in 2018. She attended the DIS Furniture Design Program in Copenhagen in 2016. Between 2019 and 2020, she attended the Textile and Fashion Design Program at Atılım University as a visiting student. She earned a certificate in Fashion Brand Management from Vakko ESMOD in 2019. She completed her M.Sc. in the Department of Industrial Design at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2025 and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the same department.

During her time in New York, she interned and worked at Cadar Jewelry. Upon returning to Turkey, she worked at a handbag atelier for one year. In 2020, she established her own brand, RAA Istanbul, where she currently continues to design her own collections in handbag and clothing. She began teaching as a part-time lecturer at TED University and METU in 2021, and has served as a full-time lecturer at TED University since 2025.
