Biography

After receiving my Ph.D. degree from Hacettepe University, Developmental Psychology program, I joined the Department of Psychology and worked there between the years 1985-2015. Currently, I am working at TED University.
I conducted several research projects about working women’s transition to motherhood, adolescence, and parenting in my lab. Recently, I have been interested in the multidimensional nature of parenting, the exploratory processes of the relationship between parental control and adolescent development. My focus is especially on adolescents’ filial beliefs, the conceptualization of parental authority, and reactions to parental control within the framework of social domain theory.
