Mohammad S. Shikakhwa is a Professor of Physics in the Department of Basic Sciences at TED University in Ankara. As a theoretical physicist, he has established a distinguished career spanning academic and administrative leadership in Jordan, Turkey, and Northern Cyprus. He is a dual citizen of Jordan and Türkiye.

Academic Background

  • Ph.D. in the Theory of High Energy Physics: Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara (1995).

  • M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics: Middle East Technical University, Ankara (1992).

  • B.Sc. in Physics: University of Jordan, Amman (1987).

Research Expertise

Professor Shikakhwa’s research involves advanced theoretical frameworks in quantum mechanics and field theory. His key areas of focus include:

  • Aharonov-Bohm Scattering: Investigating its variations and physical implications.

  • Low-Dimensional Field Theories: Researching the quantization of quantum field theories with constraints.

  • Condensed Matter Systems: Applying gauge field methods to complex systems.

  • Quantum Mechanics on Curved Surfaces: Exploring Hermitian Hamiltonians, geometric momentum, and centripetal force operators.

Teaching Portfolio

With extensive experience in curriculum development and instruction, Professor Shikakhwa teaches a wide range of fundamental and advanced courses:

Undergraduate Courses

  • Quantum Mechanics

  • Mathematical Physics

  • Thermal Physics

  • Special Theory of Relativity

  • Freshman Physics
