A central aspect of migration as an “expression of change, transformation and movement in the form of and as a consequence of the mobility of persons” (Mecheril et al., 2013, p. 8, own translation) is translocality: Migrants cross local spaces and arrive in local spaces. Especially migrants categorized as refugees receive support in the different local contexts of their respective migration trajectories.
