Ruşen Kaya has received primary, secondary and high school educations in Tarsus town of Mersin city. He has got his bachelor’s degree with the first ranked student award at Faculty of Arts and Sciences and with the grant of TÜBİTAK-Basic Sciences Scholarship from the Department of Mathematics, Çukurova University; he has got his master’s degree from the Department of Mathematics, Middle East Technical University.

He worked as a research assistant between 2005-2017 actively carrying out the procedures in the coordination of calculus courses in various forms. He worked as a part-time lecturer between 2017-2019 in TED University and worked as a part-time lecturer during the summer semesters of 2017 and 2018 in Middle East Technical University.

He has been working as a lecturer in TED University since September 2019.
