Prof. Nur Serap Özer

Biography

Associate Professor Serap Özer completed her earlier education at TED Ankara College. Following this she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Hacettepe University. She continued her graduate education in the U.S., starting in developmental psychology and completed her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical/Community psychology at University of South Florida. She has been a member of faculty at Boğaziçi, Doğuş and Bahçeşehir Universities. At the same time she has continued her clinical work and consultation with schools and other institutions. Her research is in the areas of child psychological assessment, measurement of depression, responses of children to social events and children’s understanding of war and peace. Recently her research interest is in the area of the mental health of refugee children exposed to war and trauma.
