Assoc. Prof. Tekin Köse

Biography

Tekin Köse is currently an Associate Professor at TED University, Department of Economics, Ankara, Turkey. He received his B.S. degree in 2006 and M.S. degree in 2008 from Department of Economics at Middle East Technical University. He got his PhD in Economics from University of Pittsburgh (USA) in 2014.
His research areas include applied microeconomics, health economics, gender economics, political economy, and applied econometrics. Dr. Köse's research mainly analyses health outcomes and health behaviour at individual-level such as the relationship between gender and self-rated health status. He also investigates associations of gender with economic decision making and relationships between political trust, institutions and economic outcomes. He has published in South European Society & Politics, Applied Economics, Health Policy and Technology, Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies, and Health and Technology. Dr. köse also worked as a researcher on projects supported by the National Agency and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
Dr. Köse taught variety of courses such as Microeconomics and International Economics at University of Pittsburgh between 2010-2013; Microeconomics and Business Statistics at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater during 2014-2015 academic year. At TED University, He currently teaches various courses for Economics at both undergraduate and graduate level such as Microeconomics, Econometrics, Graduation Paper and Seminar, Health Economics, and Experimental Economics.
