Tuba Şahin İlikoğlu received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in 2014, graduating with high honors and a merit scholarship. Following her undergraduate studies, she began a Master’s program in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience at Goethe University Frankfurt as a TEV-DAAD scholarship recipient. Her master’s thesis focused on neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer arising from neural crest cells, and examined the relationship between the expression and function of putative drivers of neural crest development and spontaneous tumor regression in neuroblastoma. During her doctoral studies, she investigated the relationships between psychological and environmental risk factors for psychosis-like experiences in the general population and brain function during task performance. She completed her PhD in the Neuroscience Program at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in 2025 and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at TED University.
Dr. İlikoğlu is the founder of the NeuroBridge: Neuropsychology and Mental Health Laboratory. Her research adopts a translational approach to understanding the psychological, environmental, and neurobiological foundations of psychosis and psychosis-like experiences, with a particular focus on the relationships between cognitive functions, brain mechanisms, and psychopathology.
