Özet

Self-regulated learning has emerged as a crucial factor in academic success, surpassing intelligence in its predictive value and equipping students to navigate through distractions. AI tools offer personalized feedback and dynamic support, enabling learners to regulate learning processes. However, research examining AI's role in SRL remains fragmented, highlighting the need for an exploratory literature review to map existing approaches, identify gaps, and uncover emerging patterns. This chapter addresses this need by exploring research focusing on the place of AI in SRL development. The findings reveal that AI-driven SRL research can be classified under two broad categories: studies focusing on designing AI tools to enhance SRL and studies dealing with the impact of AI on SRL. The findings also show that AI can enhance SRL by offering just-in-time assistance and individualized learning pathways. However, given the continual proliferation of novel AI tools, more research is needed to create a comprehensive framework of AI-driven SRL enhancement.
