Although financial strain has been shown to linked with life satisfaction in unemployed individuals, the potential moderating role of employment status (i.e. employed vs. unemployed) on the relationship between financial wellbeing and life satisfaction has yet to be tested for emerging adults. To fill this gap, the purpose of the present study is twofold: (1) to assess the psychometric properties of the Multidimensional Subjective Financial Wellbeing Scale (MSFWBS), and (2) to examine the moderator role of occupational status on the relationship between financial wellbeing and life satisfaction in a sample of Turkish emerging adults. Study 1 showed that Turkish version of the scale (MSFWBS-T) yielded satisfactory validity and reliability results. Study 2 revealed that the strength of the association between financial wellbeing and life satisfaction is stronger for unemployed emerging adults compared to their peers who are full-time employed or students.
