Is it possible to have an ethical encounter for the two sides of a battle sharing a troubled past? This chapter argues yes; even if the battle is a founding event of the national discourse for both sides as in Gallipoli. As an invitation of welcoming and taking responsibility in sympathy for the story of the other, this chapter focuses on a dream of a woman who travels with historical others. Applying the perspective of French Philosopher Paul Ricoeur, this chapter argues that an ethical engagement is possible building a hermeneutical bridge. In order to interpret otherness, this chapter uses the method of recounting the historical narratives by exchanging stories that allows the possibility of seeing each other through the eyes of the other.
