Özet

Gerontology and Geriatry is expected to become the most important Scientific domain in Turkey in the 21st century. Demographic changes are proving this statement. The development of Gerontology and Geriatrics should not be preceived separately. A collaboration is imperative instead. The evolution of knowledge from Gerontology and geriatry might be also useful for other Scientific fields. A contribution from sociology, psychology, psychiatry, philosophie, theology, law, histroy and other fields are needed. The failure to recognize this need is a lack in Scientific society. Geriatry and Gerontology will certainly show other Scientific disciplines how to collaborate and recognize this lack.
