Özet
This chapter examines attitudes toward sharenting, focusing on the intersections of privacy, parenting, and digital culture. Drawing on a narrative review, it explores parents’ motivations, including connection, validation, memory preservation, parental disclosure, and tension. Illustrative quotes from parents are provided to offer firsthand insights into their lived experiences based on interviews conducted by the research team. The chapter further provides a comparative legal discussion from the European Union, the United States, and Türkiye with a strong emphasis on the risks to children’s privacy and autonomy. It concludes with a concise research agenda for digital literacy and ethical issues, promoting critical reflection on the balance between children’s rights and parental autonomy.
