In the field of medicine, genomics captivates a key role. Advancements in modern healthcare have been leading to profound understandings of the genomic sequences and their relations to the specific diseases. Genome sequencing technologies offer great promises of medical advances, but individual's privacy stands at risk because of outsourcing sensitive information. Genomic data may be exposed to many attacks and threats, which leads to the necessity of securing sensitive genomic data. The aim of this research is to represent an approach using a knowledge base to gather all the possible information to detect and identify attacks and threats related to genomic data. Ontology for Detection of Attack on Genomic data (DAG) using semantic web techniques is proposed. On the basis of the DAG ontology, the system is able to analyze and validate incoming requests through inference rules, and it generates alerts if any threat is diagnosed. The proposed DAG ontology also provides extensibility and reusability with time as per need. Moreover, the model is time efficient in terms of defining semantic rules.
