Abstract

One of the technologies being integrated into the construction industry in the 21st century is drones. Drones at the construction site, which are used for an array of jobs ranging from surveillance, data gathering, mapping to management, are on an increasing trend in recent years. In this study, correlations between the usage of drones for construction and other possible factors are investigated. Of the analyzed possible effects, capital of firms, or the construction industry of a given country seem not to be correlated with drone usage. On the other hand, existing civil drone interest in a given country had more effect on construction drone usage. Further assessments are made on these discoveries to foresee the possible benefits and construction drone usage trends for Turkey. As conditions in Turkey fit the positive correlation criteria, it is expected that construction drone activity in the industry will increase in the near future. Such a change would be beneficial due to improved efficiency and productivity.
