Abstract

The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of tuning screws located at the cross iris of a dual-mode vacuum filled cylindrical waveguide filter. Dual-mode waveguide filters with and without cross iris screws are designed and manufactured. Their simulation and measurement results are compared. It is clear that the bandwidth of the filter (and also Finite Transmission Zero (FTZ) locations) can be adjusted with cross iris screws. So, design and mechanical production tolerances can be easily compensated depending on the technical requirements.
