Abstract

Multiple Rocket Launcher Systems (MLRS) are used to aim rockets to the desired elevation (pitch) and azimuth (yaw) angles in order to hit targets. In this paper, a dynamic model for an MLRS with electromechanical actuators is presented along with performance evaluation of four different friction models. The final model is simulated and the results are compared with the test data taken from the real MLRS. The results show that the proposed model is accurate within, on average, 5% of the actual system.
