Researcher of Interior Architecture & Oral History | Urban Interiors | Spatial Memory | Migration

Faculty Member Dr. Taşdemir completed her undergraduate degree at Başkent University (2009), Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. She received her master's degree from Hacettepe University with her thesis(2013). In 2018, she received her doctorate from the same university with her thesis titled "Urban Interiors: Arcades in the Memory of Ankara, (1950-1980)". She studies alternative stories of the city through oral history, discusses identity/meaning/context relations, and continues her research on the connection between space and social history. Between 2011-2022, she worked as a research assistant, lecturer, and assistant professor at Başkent University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. As of 2022, she has worked as a faculty member at TED University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design. Taşdemir is also an active Docomomo _Turkey and Docomomo_Turkey Interior Committee member. Since 2022, she has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at TED University, Faculty of Architecture, in Ankara, Turkey. 

In addition, she is a member of the 4T—Turkey Design History Society. In the summer of 2025, she was a visiting scholar at the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of British Columbia (Canada).
