Biography
She completed her B.A at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Education, Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education, Mathematics Education Department in 2007. Between 2007 and 2009, she worked as a research assistant in Elementary Mathematics Education Department at Hacettepe University. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2017 from Hacettepe University, Institute of Educational Sciences, Elementary Education Program.During her PhD, she studied as a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. During her stay abroad she worked as a researcher in the Number Sense project run by Arthur Baroody and participated in seminars and postgraduate courses in mathematics education.
Cigdem ALKAS ULUSOY, who works on number sense in her doctoral thesis, is also interested in mathematical modelling, mind games, statistical reasoning and self-efficacy. Besides the academic publications of Cigdem ALKAS ULUSOY, there is a mathematics textbook at the second grade level of primary school approved by the Ministry of National Education.
