Asst. Prof. Sedef Süner Pla Cerda

Biography

Dr. Sedef Süner obtained her B.I.D, M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Department of Industrial Design at Middle East Technical University. In 2016, she was granted TUBITAK research funding to conduct part of her doctoral studies as a visiting researcher at Mintlab, University of Leuven.

As a research assistant at METU Department of Industrial Design, she contributed to such undergraduate and graduate level courses as history of design, design and culture, and user research. She worked as a user experience researcher in industry collaboration research projects at BILTIR-UTEST Product Usability Unit.

Having completed her doctoral studies on design for children and research methods with child-users, she continues research and teaching on user-centred design, methods of user experience research, and integration of user-centred methods into design education.

Sedef Süner joined the academic team of the TEDU Department of Industrial Design as an assistant professor in April 2018.
