Biyografi
Ufuk Balaman is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics at the Department of English Language Teaching, TED University, Ankara, Turkiye, the lead researcher of the TEDU CAN (Conversation Analysis Research Group), the coordinator of the recent DigiLTE project, and the author of the recent book “Conversation Analytic Language Teacher Education in Digital Spaces” published by Palgrave/Springer. He previously worked at the Centre de linguistique appliquée, Université de Neuchâtel as a visiting postdoctoral researcher, at Kırıkkale University as an English language instructor, and Hacettepe University as an associate professor.
Some of his recent papers appeared in System, TESOL Quarterly, Pragmatics, ROLSI, Applied Linguistics Review, and Classroom Discourse. He also gave some presentations, contributed to international research projects, won awards, organized conferences, and edited special issues.
Balaman's research draws on multimodal Conversation Analysis for L2 learning, teaching, and teacher education mainly in digital spaces and aims to contribute to the fields of multimodal Conversation Analysis, CALL, TBLT, and language teacher education among other relevant fields of inquiry.
